Its was on the Swedish Fishing fair 2015 i first came in contact with the Boggie Craw from Gunki. And i liked it, my first reaction was this will be perfect to fish slow and drag it close to bottom. And i say it to Fredric Julian (Mr Gunki) that stands beside me. He watch on me and say. No no its a swimbait. And we rigged it on a normal jighead and showed me in the pool. And when you drag it slow the claws is not moving stiff as a stik. Speed it up claws flap great.
After the fishing fair and the Swedish spring started to come i hit my home lakes serching for perch and i started to cast the Boogie Craw and i did not work that great as i was dreaming of. I get fish but so many that i wanted.
Now i think back and the perch was not that active its really cold water and i was fishing to fast. So i rigged on a texas rig. Now things changed i started to get fish.
If you fish texas give it some hard ripps so the claw flaps and then slow it down same with carolina.
And not only perch the zander loved it also. GREAT!
Time goes on and i fish alot now i feel like i understand the bait i use it on many diffrent methods dropshot, jighead, texas and carolina rig.
When i fish dropshot i like to put the hook pretty high up when i use the craw. Because the bait is wide and gives a nice silhouette.
And it work great i think.
So how is it that it works so good on dropshot. Well this is how i think!! When i use dropshot the fish is not so active. I need to slow down and the bait dont do so much movment. And to much movment can be negative also. And i almost forgett its packed with scent, that i like when i fish slow.
When i fish it with a normal jighead i like to make a hard rip 1 ore 2 times and then let it sink. You do it right when you feel the claws flapping in the rod. And the same is if you cast it and reel it in you feel when its flapping if you dont try to speed up.
And i like to pimp my craw with some clear UV glo. I use a Dip n glo, and i put it on the claws. Does it work i think so…..
This bait dont care if its designed to be fished fast.
It comes in 2 sizes 7.5cm and 9cm. And much more color than i showed i cant buy them all.
So if you want a good bait with a attitude take a look at Gunki Boogie Craw.
